Testing methods used
We offer two clinically proven methods for identifying seasonal allergens:
Skin Prick Testing (SPT)
- Small amounts of allergens are applied to the surface of your skin, usually on your forearm or upper back.
- A tiny, painless device is used to lightly prick the skin, allowing exposure to each allergen.
- If you are allergic, a small raised bump (similar to a mosquito bite) will appear within 15 to 20 minutes.
- Results are immediate and interpreted during your visit.
Specific IgE Blood Testing
- A blood sample is collected and sent to a certified laboratory.
- The lab measures the level of IgE antibodies your immune system produces in response to specific allergens.
- This method is used for patients with skin conditions, those who take certain medications, or those who cannot undergo skin testing.
Both methods are safe and well tolerated by adults and children.
